1. It may be caused by the too large inner diameter of the bracket fixing the nail channel or the bracket being biased to one side. Try to adjust the bracket with pliers so that when the cover is pressed, the head of the nail groove can be located in the middle of the nail groove.
2. Check whether the staple fits into the slot, and push the spring back to see if the staple slides smoothly in the slot. Push back and forth a few times, take a look. If it doesn't go well, it won't be in place.
3. Many staplers have a flat opening on the side of the binding slot, which can accommodate the thickness of a dollar coin. When the paper jam, insert the coin into the opening and pry it up. You can use the lever to raise your head and the remaining staples will fall out.
